These letters are to be kept from the public until the year 1961, although their examination by students is allowed; and there is no objection to the publication of any conclusions which may result, but no quotations can be made nor any reference to the letters as authority for such statements or opinions. It is also conditioned that no use shall be made of their contents which may tend to reflect unfavourably upon the persons concerned or mentioned in the correspondence.' This was delayed from December 1936 to January 1937 due to a 'national crisis'.
